Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura, found 128 miles North from Colombo, still reflects the historical majesty as Sri Lanka's first capital founded in 4th century BC. The 2,200 year old Bo tree, the royal twin ponds and the Isurumuniya lovers add more to Anuradhapura's splendor along with Abhayagiri and Jetawana, declared as world heritage sties by UNESCO.

Polonnaruwa

Within the rectangle of city walls stand, majestic palace buildings and clusters of dozens of sthupas (pagodas), temples and various other buildings. The city itself holds many historical tales to relate and is renowned for the unique irrigation complex known as ParakramaSamudraya – Sea of Parakrama.

Sigiriya

Dambulla
